Mumbai: Veteran actor Om Puri and Mallika Sherawat will soon be seen playing a dirty philandering politician and his temptress arm candy respectively in K.C. Bokadia’s Dirty Politics.
However, their real-life chemistry threatens to become more explosive than the film, what with Om apparently taking umbrage to Sherawat’s snide remarks on Kapil Sharma’s show regarding her love-making scene with the distinguished actor.
Mallika, who is well-known for her proclivity to put her foot in her mouth, giggled and declared on Comedy Nights With Kapil that Om Puri dyed his hair before doing the love-making scene with her.
A source from the unit informs, “Omji was very upset with Mallika’s remark. He immediately confronted her. She apologised. But the damage was done. They are being cold to each other. They may not promote the film together.”
When asked about the incident Om, who is never known to mince words, admitted, “Yes, I did confront Mallika, when I heard what she had said about me. I didn’t see the show. But people told me about it. She said it was a mistake. But what kind of a mistake is this? You put up your co-star, who is far more experienced than you, for ridicule on national television. Then you say it was a mistake?”
Interestingly, when Mallika had done an item song with Om in Bim Bulaaye Baraati he had re-christened her ‘Mallika Sharaafat’ for her professional conduct.
Perhaps Om would like to change that to ‘Mallika Baghaawat’ now?
