Real story begins after the news gets published
There are good lawyers and bad lawyers said Aniruddha Bahal
Hyderabad: “A friend of mine once overheard two women laborers in Karnataka speaking about Tehelka. She was intrigued when she found that the women thought Tehelka was an electronic machine which can tell one how much corruption a person has done in his/her life,” said Aniruddha Bahal, novelist, journalist and founder of Cobrapost.com, sharing an anecdote on the reach of a powerful audiovisual story. “The real story is what starts after you publish a story,” he said.
Responding to a question on ethical boundaries for journalism by Supreme Court lawyer and social activist Ms Indira Jaising, Mr Bahal said, “There are good lawyers and bad lawyers. Similarly, there are good journalists and bad journalists too.”
