New Delhi: Two Army men, Major Mukund Varadarajan and Naik Neeraj Kumar Singh will be awarded the country’s highest peacetime gallantry award, the Ashok Chakra, during the Republic Day parade in New Delhi on Monday.
The soldiers laid down their lives while fighting terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir in 2013.
Major Varadarajan, killed two heavily-armed terrorists before breathing his last and Naik Singh was killed in a gunfight with a group of terrorists in Kupwara.
