Government said that reports on those getting the awards this year were 'speculative'

New Delhi: Amid speculation over the names for this year’s Padma awards, the government dismissed the media reports.
The government said that the reports on those getting the awards this year were “speculative”.
“The government has not yet announced the Padma awards for the year 2015. These awards are announced on January 25 every year, on the eve of Republic Day. The names appearing in the media are speculative and there is no official confirmation for the same,” a home ministry statement said.
