Salman Mohiuddin planned to get married to girlfriend before joining IS

Hyderabad: Police officials claimed that US returnee Salman Mohiuddin, who is married and has two children in Hyderabad, had planned to marry his foreign girlfriend Ayesha alias Nicky Josef in Dubai before going to Syria to join IS. Ayesha, who is a convert to Islam, was waiting for him in Dubai. Meanwhile, the police brought Salman for interrogation from prison on Thursday.

“Salman had planned to marry Ayesha after reaching Dubai. He and Ayesha, then planned to leave for Syria after crossing the Turkey border illegally. Two men Abu Al Barra Al Sami from Syria and Abu Mohammed from Turkey had offered them help,” investigation officials said.

The police found out the details after studying his chat history with Ayesha and others on social networking sites and on phone. Ayesha, who is a British national, fell in love with Salman and agreed to marry him. Her name was Nicki Josef before she converted, police said.

Salman’s father had earlier said that Salman was married and has two children, and he did not want to go back to the US as he did not get a family visa. He had also said that Salman was going to Dubai to look for a job.

Meanwhile, Shamshabad police officials have taken Salman into custody following a court order. He was lodged at the Cherlapally jail as a remand prisoner. The cops have now started interrogating him regarding his Islamic State links.

Salman, a 32-year-old, who got his MS from Houston in the US is a resident of Bazarghat. He was caught by intelligence officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. He was going to fly to Dubai, from where, the police claimed, he was about to go to Syria.
