Internal strife is going on in the grand old Congress party: BJP
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said that Congress leader Janardan Dwivedi has accepted the fact that the country is looking up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and added that an internal strife is going on in the grand old party.
"He [Janardan Dwivedi] has accepted the fact that today the country is looking up to Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India. He has given a voice to the nation; he has given a leadership to the nation not only within the country, but internationally," BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy said.
"He has made some statements about the situation prevailing inside the Congress party and there is an internal strife in the Congress party as it looks from his statements," he added.
Rudy also said that the dissension in the Congress party is on the forefront, which is evident and visible after Dwivedi's statements.
Earlier in the day, Dwivedi clarified his comments regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that his remarks had been taken out of context by the agency concerned. He was reacting to statements made on Wednesday, where he was seemingly seen to praise Prime Minister Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party for being the symbol of 'Indian-ness'.
Meanwhile, the Congress strongly condemned Dwivedi's statement.
