Hyderabad: On detecting the hacking and misuse of the Raj Bhavan phone, a complaint was lodged with the Cyber Crime Station in the CID. As much as Rs 38,233 was billed due to this unauthorised use and it is being recovered from the system vendor, a statement from Raj Bhavan said.
“Gateway Business Solutions, Hyderabad, is the vendor of the Matrix EPABX Systems. They were in the process of installing an additional exchange and integrate it with the existing EPABX in Raj Bhavan. The installation was not complete and nor was it handed over to Raj Bhavan officials with proper safeguards when the hacking took place,” said the officials.
“We are recovering the lost amount from the vendor,” they added.
However, police is yet to find out who hacked it and how it was done. “We have started investigation. We are getting information from the concerned officials,” said inspector-general of police (CID) Charu Sinha.
