Microsoft’s Denim update for Lumia can enable 4K video capture on capable smartphones

Nokia’s high-end Lumia smartphones are known for their awesome camera sensors. Now that Microsoft has taken over the entire operations from Nokia, the Lumia smartphones are now retailed under the Microsoft branding.

Microsoft is rolling out the Denim update for the Lumia smartphones and new software update does wonders with the existing high-end cameras equipped with certain smartphones.

SoftPedia mentions that Stephen Alvarez, a National Geographic photographer, had recently shot some awesome photos and videos using his Lumia 830. This time, he goes out to shoot some new videos in 4K resolution using the new Lumia 930 with the Denim update.

The Microsoft Lumia 930 has a Carl Zeiss lens and equipped with a 20MP sensor. Together with the new Denim update, the camera is capable of shooting 4K (2160P) resolution photos and videos with great ease. Do note, that the video is in 4K and if your PC, laptop or smartphone/tablet is capable of 4K playback, you will be able to see the difference. If you don’t have 4K playback support, the video will stutter. Play the video in full HD if you want to see it on regular mode.
