PM Modi asks NRIs to assess missions

This comes ahead of his meeting with Indian envoys next month

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday invited suggestions from the country’s diaspora about services rendered by missions abroad as well as their ideas to mark the first International Day of Yoga on June 21.

This comes ahead of his meeting with Indian envoys next month. “Friends from the diaspora, share your inputs on certain aspects pertaining to our embassies abroad,” Mr Modi wrote in on his Twitter handle. He also invited suggestions on the MyGov website. The inputs on the Embassies received through MyGov would be very valuable for the Conference of Heads of Mission, being held in February.”

At the conference, his first interaction with all Indian envoys collectively, the Prime Minister is exp-ected to give them direction with emphasis on taking pro-active approach to-wards addressing issues relating to the Indian diaspora.

Mr Modi also sought their “ideas & inputs on marking the first-ever ‘International Day of Yoga’, on this MyGov Open Forum.”

The UN recently declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga to be celebrated every year.
