Is your password on the 'worst passwords' list?
Netizens are still not into using stronger passwords
It's 2015, and some people still use embarrassingly obvious passwords. But at least people seem to be using those passwords less frequently than before. Password management company SplashData released its annual "Worst Passwords of 2014" list with the top two passwords — '123456' and 'password' topping the list of worst passwords. Simple numerical passwords — '12345,' '111111,' '123123' — make up nine of the top 25.

SplashData's list comes from leaked or stolen passwords that have been posted online by hackers, so while it's hardly definitive, it gives a sense of what practices to avoid. As SplashData notes, favorite sports and common names (possibly from people name passwords after their children) become especially popular as one moves down the list, and seemingly clever phrases like 'trustno1' are more common than we might think.
