Andhra Pradesh government bodies yet to get smartphone apps
Vijayawada: The AP government, which launched 17 smartphone development centres across the state on Monday, has not yet progressed much in the smartphone world.
Many of the major government departments, including the police, municipal, electricity and others do not have any smartphone applications yet to reach the mobile users.
However, a number of apps are in the making and would be released in near future.
‘AP Speaks’ is the only app by the state government available on Android platform at present. It allows every smartphone user to share his or her idea with the government. It promises that the ideas, which can be posted in a simple text message, will be considered by the government. However, less than 100 users have downloaded the application so far. The App was released on December 27, 2014.
The AP police department is working on an app only for women safety.
The municipal department is also using a mobile application ‘mBin’ to improve working standards of the department.
