Johnny Depp sick of actors cashing in as singers
Johnny Depp has revealed that actors, who capitalise on their fame to make music, have always made him sick.According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 51-year-old actor, who considers this whole idea as a “sickening thing,” said that he has been very lucky to play for friends’ records and it’s still going, adding that music is still a part of his life.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star, who plays guitar and has played for tracks by British band Oasis and performed with Marilyn Manson, added that he is currently content with being a low-key musician. Depp expanded his point of people riding their success to push their music by saying that the kind of luxury now is that anybody with a certain amount of success and if they have a kind of musical being, can go out and start a band and capitalise on their work in other areas.
He concluded by saying that he hates the idea. “Come see me play the guitar because you’ve seen me in 12 movies, it shouldn’t be that way because one wants the people who are listening to the music only to be interested in the music.”
