Karan Johar takes no chances, alters Shuddhi location
Mumbai: After the Supreme Court’s recent order that Salman Khan can’t travel to the UK due to the jail term in connection with the black buck case, Karan Johar called for an urgent meeting with his team of writers. The filmmaker will now have to rework the locations for his magnum opus Shuddhi that was originally supposed to be partially shot in the UK. He will now, in all probability, make changes to the script and shoot it in India itself.
Says a source close to Johar, “Salman’s other two films Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo don’t require him to travel abroad and hence their schedule isn’t disturbed at all. With the recent turn of events, Karan doesn’t want to take any risk, and he will make changes to the shoot to suit Indian locations.”
Salman apparently has regular meetings with his filmmakers to ensure that there are no hiccups in the progression of his films. “Salman is aware of the monstrous investments in his films and wouldn’t want his producers to suffer or incur losses because of him,” says a trade analyst.
While Dharma is yet to decide on the leading lady of Shuddhi, the plans have been put on hold as the priority is to sort out the locations.
