All Hindus must have 2 kids to protect religion: VHP
Lucknow: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) wants the Modi government to make a law under which it will be mandatory for every Hindu couple to have at least two children.
“If anyone wants to have more children, they are free to do so but to protect the Hindu religion, every couple must have two children. We want the government to make a law in this regard,” said Kanhaiya Lal Agarwal, the Lucknow head of the VHP, on Friday.
Talking to reporters on the eve of a Hindu Sammelan in the state capital, the VHP leader said that it was unfortunate that even after more than six decades of Independence, cow slaughter was flourishing in the country.
“It would have been better if India had been declared a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ at the time of Independence. We have always advocated one nation, one law, one rule,” he said adding that the VHP would encourage ‘ghar waapsi’ which should not be confused with conversion.
