Woman poisons daughters and attempts suicide
Hyderabad: A woman allegedly poisoned her two daughters and attempted suicide at Urella village of Chevella mandal in Ranga Reddy district on Friday.
According to police, a complaint was lodged by the victim’s mother Basamma, who alleged that her daughter Lakshmi tried to commit suicide because of the unbearable harassment by her husband H. Anandam. Both the girls Anusha, 2, and Sirisha, 3, were declared dead by the doctors while Lakshmi is in a critical condition at the Osmania General Hospital, police said.
Anandam, a labourer working in a poultry farm in Urella, migrated with his wife and two daughters from Gangaram of Ranga Reddy district. The couple had four daughters and two of them were stayed back.
“It is not clear if Lakshmi had poisoned her kids and then attempted suicide or is it a ploy by Anandam. We are questioning him,” said Chevella SI Rajashekhar.
