PDP turned down our offer to go with its masters: NC
Srinagar: National Conference (NC) said on Thursday that it had offered the outside support to the Peoples’ Democratic Party for government formation in Jammu and Kashmir in the larger interests of the state but the latter “is resorting to invalid excuses and lies as they are up for forming the government with their masters.”
NC’s general secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said here that the PDP “stands exposed now as they have geared up for tying up with their masters who founded and funded the party’s creation.” He was obviously referring to the BJP as the NC alleges that the PDP was created during earlier NDA rule to counter the state’s oldest mainstream political party “which has resisted all attempts and conspiracies aimed at undermining the interests of Jammu and Kashmir and the special status it enjoys within the Indian Union.”
Sagar said, “We had offered unconditional support to Mufti Sayeed’s party for forming the government without seeking to be a part of the government, in the larger interests of the State and to protect the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, but PDP has made its mind to go with their handlers for government formation.” He added, “The lies and invalid excuses to which the PDP has resorted hold no ground in real sense as NC had made it clear that it never wanted to be part of the government with PDP.”
“Even today NC lives in the hearts of the people. PDP’s efforts to spread canards among people against this party can’t overrule the reality”.
The NC leader said, “We stand by our commitment for complete autonomy for Jammu and Kashmir, for revoking the black laws like AFSPA imposed with the consent of Mufti Sayeed, and resolving the long pending political issue of Kashmir through negotiations.”
