Trinamool Congress leader Prasun Banerjee slaps traffic constable in Kolkata
Kolkata: Trinamool Congress leader Prasun Banerjee on Wednesday allegedly slapped a traffic policeman in Kolkata.
The traffic constable claimed that Banerjee lost his cool when he was stopped from taking a wrong U-turn in Kolkata’s Lake Town area, where there was heavy traffic.
Banerjee's driver started arguing with the policeman once the cop stopped him. The MP then told the policeman that a lawmaker should not be stopped.
When the policeman insisted that he should follow rules, the MP allegedly slapped him.
This incident comes days after a man was charged with attempt to murder for slapping Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee at a public meeting.
Kolkata in the recent past has seen gross violation of rules by law-makers.
Police are helpless, as they are the onew who face the ire of politicians when they try to do their duty.
