New Delhi: A minor expansion of the Narendra Modi Cabinet is on the cards. Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha member Anil Desai is likely to be accommodated in the Centre after Sankranti.
Also, with minister of state for consumer affairs, food and public distribution Raosahib Patil Danve taking charge as the BJP’s Maharashtra unit president, one more vacancy would be created. As per the “one-person-one-rank” rule followed in the BJP, Mr Danve will have to resign from the ministry.
Though the name of BJP in-charge of MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe is doing the rounds for Danve’s post, speculation is rife that a BJP leader from some other state than Maharashtra could be brought in to fill the vacancy.
