Friends Club members make time for cleanliness
HYDERABAD: Despite having a tight schedule and being in different professions, around 50 members of the Friends Club of Dammaiguda got their hands dirty and cleaned up the society’s panchayat park situated at Ramananagar Colony, Dammaiguda.
Participant Vincent M.A. said, “The place that could have been a recreational park had become the abode of snakes, a dumpyard and a natural habitat for pigs and infectious insects.
Both aged and young alike, in spite of our tight schedules, worked hard over a month to convert the long-forgotten land into a playground. It was an extraordinary and exemplary social activity, performed for the first time in the history of Dammaiguda.
On December 25, we played the first volleyball match at the park.” “We worked hard, without getting any paid labour. We found time amid the busy schedule for the betterment of the society.
This had tremendous impact on the fraternity of Dammaiguda. It brought about mutual recognition, a sense of belongingness and an enhancement of our social responsibility,” added K.V. Varghese.
