BJP, TDP will develop Andhra Pradesh: BJP chief Amit Shah

Both the parties working for development of the state and country together
Vijayawada: BJP national president Amit Shah said on Friday that his party would develop the state jointly with the Telugu Desam.
Speaking to media persons, Mr Shah said that though the party was making efforts on strengthening its base in Andhra Pradesh it did not mean that it wanted to weaken the TD. He said that people had given the mandate to the BJP and TD alliance and both the parties were working for development of the state and country together.
He, however, added that he could not say at this point of time whether both parties would continue their alliance in the 2019 elections. The BJP national president also clarified that the leadership would welcome anyone in the party and pointed out that the BJP had registered record victories during its seven months of rule and the growth rate had also increased from 4.6 per cent to 5.7 per cent.
“The NDA government has completed various developments in the last seven months that the UPA could not do in the last 10 years,” he said.
Congress out, BJP to cash in:
BJP national president Amit Shah said on Friday that the country’s reputation has been enhanced under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his recent foreign tours proved it.
The NDA government was making a road map for India to emerge as one of the best in the world, he said. He said “team India”, with state governments, ministers, was working along those lines together.
The government has implemented various schemes and he hoped the BJP would perform well in the upcoming Delhi pools too. He said the government would pursue all possibilities for implementing AP’s special status.
On the question of him following different strategies during his visit to Hyderabad and Vijayawada, so much so that he could not even meet CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, Mr Shah said that the BJP and TD were working for the development of the state and the country.
Reacting to a question aimed at Mr Shah, Union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said, “With the Congress out in AP, the space is open. We are setting up plans to cash in on the situation.” Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman and state BJP president Y.K. Hari Babu were also present.
