The newly constructed Haritha Beach Resorts will give a special attraction to visitors
Kakinada: The district administration has made all arrangements for organising Kakinada Beach Festival from January 10 to 12 at Vakalapudi beach. As many as 80 different stalls relating to the famous cookery items such as mango jelly, Atreyapuram Pootharekulu, and others, the famous handicrafts and textiles, different products, made by self-help groups and others have been exhibited in the beach festival.
The newly constructed Haritha Beach Resorts will give a special attraction to visitors of the beach festival. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation has already conducted two festivals in the beach resorts, consisting of 10 resorts.
Tourism commissioner Amarendra Kumar is closely monitoring the arrangements at the resorts. The boat riding, punt riding at Kakinada sea and other attractive features will give special entertainment to the visitors especially children and the youth.
The annual Kakinada Beach Festival, which was launched two years ago has become a purely local affair. When it was launched, it was said that the festival would improve the image of Kakinada and also its tourism potential.
“The government has failed to get attention of outside tourists. The government should pay attention on promoting it as best tourism spot,” said BJP senior leader Y. Malakondaiah.
When Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy was the CM, he announced 50 acre for development of tourism projects. The district administration set up a sculpture park, Shilparamam and also echo park (temporarily) on a grand manner.
