Feud over RSS, not sexual assault led to Goripalya violence: Bengaluru police
BENGALURU: The case in which a seven-year-old student was allegedly sexually assaulted by her physical education teacher in Hosaguddadahalli is getting murkier with the doctors confirming to the police that there was no sexual assault on the girl.
Investigations so far have revealed that not only the sexual assault allegation, but also other issues led to the riots.
Police sources said that the girl was subjected to medical tests as per procedure. “The doctors, who conducted tests on the girl, have orally told the officers that there were no signs of any sexual assault or molestation on the girl.
The doctors will also submit a detailed report. But the accused teacher, Ramakrishna, cannot be released till we file the chargesheet, as he has been booked under the POCSO Act.
Based on the chargesheet, he has to apply for bail and then seek his release,” the source said.
About the chargesheet, the sources said that they would attach all the medical reports given by the doctors and the findings of the investigation into the sexual assault charges.
The investigation has revealed that Ramakrishna was an RSS worker. “He was very active in the events organised by the RSS. He was also close to Mahendra, a medical shop owner who had written a book against cow slaughtering, who was attacked by a gang of men in Chandra Layout in October.
It is said that Ramakrishna was planning to hoist an RSS flag in front of the school where he was working. The locals knew about it,” the source explained.
Further, a few months ago a local leader had reportedly approached the school management.
“He had proposed that he wanted to buy the institution and start an Urdu School there. But the owner of the school refused saying that his children did not want him to sell the school.
The involvement of the leader who approached the school owner behind the riots is being probed,” the source added.
The police, after the turn of events from alleged sexual assault to protest and riots, are suspecting that the sexual assault charges alone cannot be the reason for the violence that was reported on Wednesday.
