No alterations on free power supply to agricultural pump-sets: CM K Chandrasekhar Rao
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has refused to make alterations on free power supply to agricultural pump-sets. He has directed officials to go ahead with the seven-hour continuous power supply to the farm sector.
At a brief meeting with officials on Thursday, he reportedly said that the government is committed to bearing the extra amount of subsidy on account of the free power supply. The subsidy component will roughly go up to Rs 7,640 crore for the supply of 12,600 MU in 2015-16, according to estimates.
In the domestic sector, the Discoms were learnt to have proposed no hike for the consumers below 50 units a month. But consumers in the 51 to 200 units’ bracket will be burdened and the quantum has to be decided by Mr Rao. The meeting was on the issue of submission of Aggregate Revenue Requirement and Retail Tariff Proposals.
