N Chandrababu Naidu asked to leave Hyderabad

Former minister accused Naidu of creating obstacles for the Telangana government

Hyderabad: Congress Deputy Leader in the Legislative Council Shabbir Ali on Thursday advised AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to shift his base to AP instead of staying on in Hyderabad and creating hurdles in the way of development of Telangana state.

Addressing a news conference on the Assembly premises, the former minister accused Mr Naidu of creating obstacles for the Telangana government.

“He has been interfering in the affairs of Telangana state by denying it, its share of power during the crucial kharif season that led to failure of crops and farmers committing suicide.

He is also holding up irrigation water to Telangana in the ensuing rabi season. Instead of creating hurdles it is better Mr Naidu leaves Hyderabad and shifts to Vijayawada to concentrate on AP development,” Mr Shabbir Ali said.

Justifying his demand, the former minister said that Mr Naidu had better understand ground realities and advised that AP conduct Eamcet separately without clubbing it with the one announced by the TS.

Mr Shabbir Ali added that whenever Mr Naidu was at the helm of affairs of AP, the state has dogged by calamities and accidents. He said while Mr Naidu was taking oath on June 8, least 25 students died in the Beas River tragedy in Himachal Pradesh. “After that also AP had experienced several calamities including Hudhud,” he added.

Referring to Mr Naidu moving into a new rented house to incorporate vastu changes, the Congress leader said, “You can make vastu changes to rectify the defects in the house, but how can one change the vastu of AP state? Telugu Desam MLAs can change their leader by removing Mr Naidu and elect another.”
