I think films once censored shouldn't be questioned: Shah Rukh Khan

The actor came out to support his good friend Aamir Khan's film 'pk'

Mumbai: Aamir Khan’s latest film ‘pk’ has been wrapped in controversy ever since the release of its first poster. The Delhi High Court recently dismissed a PIL filed against the movie, saying the film is not offensive.

A number of celebrities have also come out in support and have praised Aamir for his brilliant performance in the film. Aamir’s good friend Shah Rukh Khan recently spoke out in support of 'pk' and film censorship at an event.

The actor said, “I think films once censored shouldn't be questioned. Films in India have to undergo a rigorous censor and once that's done it's officially passed. Yes, there will always be people who have issues but they shouldn't take it into the system where the whole idea of censorship stretches to the extent of being banal. That goes against the logic of censorship.”

“A team of good thinking people from films feel that a film is not controversial, not troublesome, will not evoke any kind of negativity and is fit to be consumed by people. I think they are the ultimate authority and give that much value to it. I know a lot of people have very radical ideas about censorship but theirs is the final say,” he added.

Despite all the controversy, ‘pk’ has still managed to become the first film to collect 300 crore at the box office thus becoming the highest grossing film in the history of Indian cinema.
