Start up boom spur business centres
Hyderabad: Business centres have seen a substantial rise in their occupancy by start-ups in the last two to three year as an increasing number of people take up entrepreneurship. “Since the past two to three years when the start-up era dawned in the country, business centres have seen a higher occupancy of office spaces by start ups, up to 80-90 per cent which was earlier around 40-50 per cent,” said Sandip Patnaik, Hyderabad chapter MD of property consultant JLL.
Initially, for the first six months or a year, the start ups work out of a residential place and then sh-ift to business centres and slowly graduate to an office building. “Since business centres fulfill the official requi-rements of a start-up by providing an office space equipped with all the modern facilities at a nominal rate, these are generally preferred by startups,” he added.
A study claimed that once product companies, R&D firms, e-commerce firms etc reach a saturation level, they would need lot of office spaces in the range of 1,000 sq feet to 5,000 sq feet. Presently, centres like Vatika, Regus etc are flourishing in India.
