Keep an eye on housing sector: M. Padmanabha Reddy
HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has promised a two-bedroom home for every citizen. This means the housing sector will be one of the highest invested sectors in Telangana.
Therefore, the state government should be strict against irregularities, said M. Padmanabha Reddy, the secretary of the Forum for Good Governance.
He added, that the government’s proposal of a house for every citizen by 2022 is a very good scheme, but it should be not be in the wrong hands.
Apart from the Indiramma Housing scheme, projects like Rajiv Swagruha have also not benefited the people they were meant for, primarily due to poor quality of construction and high rates.
There must also be a probe into the Rajiv Swagruha housing scheme. Most of the units are lying vacant,” pointed out Mr Reddy.
