Andhra Pradesh students must write Telangana exam, says Jagdish Reddy

TS government has every right to conduct Eamcet as per the AP Reorganisation Act

Hyderabad: Telangana education minister Jagdish Reddy fired another salvo on the Eamcet issue saying AP students seeking seats in Telangana colleges must write exam conducted by Telangana State government.

Mr Reddy, who is in New Delhi to participate in the education ministers conference, also asserted that Telangana government was ready to conduct joint Eamcet if needed.

“TS government has every right to conduct Eamcet as per the AP Reorganisation Act. Andhra students who want a seat in TS colleges have to write exams conducted by us,” he asserted.

Blaming AP government for the Eamcet fiasco, he said the AP government announced Eamcet notification without consulting TS government. “AP is not keen on resolving the row.

The government is complicating the issue despite clear guidelines in the AP Reorganisation Act,” he said.

AP government is unnecessarily took unilateral decision and even took the case to Governor. Our priority is students and we will ensure they do not suffer,” he said.

To a question, he said Telangana Government was ready to conduct joint EAMCET exams.
