Lucknow: The UP police have arrested one of the two constables, accused of raping a minor girl in Badaun district last week.
The accused, Avanish Yadav, was arrested from the Bareilly railway station on Tuesday night. The accused cop pleaded innocence and said that he was being framed in the case.
According to SP Bareilly, Rajiv Mehrotra, the accused cop and his colleague had kidnapped a minor girl and had raped her. Both of them fled the village after committing the crime.
“We received information about the accused and in a joint operation with a police team from Badaun, we managed to arrest him from a temple outside the station,” he said.
