Trisha Krishnan announces engagement to businessman boyfriend Varun Manian on Twitter

Mumbai: South star Trisha Krishnan is off the market! The stunning actress announced her engagement to boyfriend of few months Varun Manian on her Twitter handle on Wednesday, 07 January.

The actress will get engaged to the Chennai-based businessman on the 23rd of January in an intimate ceremony with only close family members in attendance.

Although several reports suggested that she would tie the knot later this year, Trisha clarified these speculations saying, “To my fans n friends from d media, I will be getting engaged to Varun on the 23 of Jan in a very private ceremony between our families. Please don't speculate about my wedding date as we have not fixed it as yet. And as always, you will hear it from me first when we do."

There was a buzz last November that the actress secretly got engaged to Varun, just mionths after her very public break up from Rana Daggubati. The pair even flew to Agra for the holidays, accompanied by a few friends that further fueld these speculations.

Trisha then, vehemently denied rumours of a ‘secret engagement’ saying that it (an engagement) was a happy occasion and no girl would ever want to hide it.

Trisha fans need not worry, as the star admitted that she will continue working in the film industry after marriage. The star entered the south film industry after winning the Miss Madras contest in 1999. She even picked up the South Filmfare Best Actress Award for her role in Telugu film, ‘Varsham’.

Looks like 2015 is off to a great start for the actress who also has her film ‘Yennai Arindhaal’ releasing on the 29th of January.
