CES update: Sony SmartWatch 3 with stainless steel makeover

Sony has given the smartwatch a complete makeover with a stainless steel body

Sony has showcased its SmartWatch 3 at the CES and it has given the smartwatch a complete stainless steel makeover.

The SmartWatch 3 is available on store for Rs 19,990, albeit in a plastic shell. At the CES, Sony unveiled a completely new stainless body for the SmartWatch 3.

Sony SmartWatch 3 SWR50 is an Android wear-powered smartwatch and runs on Google’s Android Wear operating system. Protected with an IP68 shell, the watch is waterproof and dustproof and presently available in black and yellow straps. It features a 1.6-inch 320x320 pixel display and powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB internal storage. Connectivity options include Micro USB, Bluetooth v4.0 and NFC and controls include voice, touch and gesture. Light sensors, gyro, accelerometer, compass and GPS make up the sensors and the watch is powered by a 420mAh battery to give you around two days of run time.

The new stainless steel Sony SmartWatch 3 will show up in stores soon, but Sony has not given the timeline for the same.
