YS Jagan Mohan Reddy demands judicial probe

The police has unleashed a reign of terror in the villages

Hyderabad: YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy demanded an inquiry by a sitting High Court judge into the alleged police excesses against farmers opposed to land pooling in the AP capital region.

The YSRC chief met some farmers in the region who told him that they were being arrested and forced to name YSRC leaders for last week’s arson attack.

One of the locals, Balaji Reddy of Undavalli said, “Several farmers and I were arrested by police. The cops forced me to implicate Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy. The police has unleashed a reign of terror in the villages.”

Addressing the farmers, Mr Reddy said, “No force on earth can take away your lands forcefully. We will be with you and fight for your cause.”

Former minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, said “Jagan will sit on a two-day fast at Tanuku in West Godavari district, on January 31 and February 1, protesting against the anti-farmer policies of the TD government.”
