VSP official found dead in Odisha

The deceased was carrying around Rs 1 lakh

Bhubaneswar: K. Surya Prasad Rao, assistant general manager (finance) of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Veer Surendra Sai Nagar in Bhubaneswar.

On being informed by the locals about a body lying on the road, the Sahid Nagar police rushed to the spot. There was no shirt on Rao’s body and his wallet was also missing. The body was later taken to the Capital Hospital for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of his death.

Investigating officer Biswajit Monobodha in the city said an air ticket was found from him. “We have registered a case of unnatural death and investigating into the case,” the officer said.

Rao’s family members said he had gone to Bhubaneswar to find a match for his younger son. He was staying with one Koteswar Rao, who had invited the deceased to meet a prospective bride.

The deceased was carrying around Rs 1 lakh, the family members informed the police. “The dead body had some wounds. We are trying to trace out Koteswar Rao. We are also probing if the deceased had some old rivalry,” DCP Satyabrat Bhoi said.
