Kagodu Thimmappa can’t stop his attacks on Siddaramaiah’s govt

The Speaker said he was fighting for the cause of getting doctors in rural areas

Bengaluru: Dragging Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah and health minister U.T. Khader over the coals for their inability to appoint doctors in rural areas, Speaker, Kagodu Thimmappa on Sunday questioned angrily if there was any point in having a government which repeatedly fails to justify its existence?

Speaking to reporters at the inauguration of Chitra Sante at the Chitrakala Parishath here, Mr Thimmappa asserted that he was not hauling up the state government unnecessarily, but its repeated failure to answer his queries annoys him.

“I share a cordial relationship with both Mr Siddarmaiah and Mr Khader, but that will not stop me from criticizing them if they fail. My anger towards them is like an angry mother scolding her daughter, whenever the latter does something wrong?” he said.

The Speaker said he was fighting for the cause of getting doctors in rural areas and appointment of doctors is one thing close to his heart.

“I do not want people of rural parts to be deprived of simple healthcare due to lack of doctors. The system of appointment of doctors is in shambles for decades, it needs to be rectified,” he snapped angrily.
