Hyderabad/Washington: The Connecticut-based New England Brewing Company has apologised for “unintentionally insulting” the Father of Nation by printing Gandhi’s image on the bottle of its beer brand Gandhi-Bot. It claimed that its intention was to pay homage and celebrate the apostle of peace and that Gandhi’s granddaughter and grandson have expressed their admiration for the label. Advocate S. Janardhan Goud on Friday filed a petition in Nampally court against the company for using Gandhi’s image on its beer bottle. He said, “it is an insult to Mahatma Gandhi according to Indian Laws under Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act,1971 and Section 124-A of IPC.
