Asaduddin Owaisi criticises Islam-terror link
Hyderabad: Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence on Ghar Wapsi.
He said this while addressing thousands of people at Darussalam, the party headquarters amid loud cheers.
Stating that India was the country of “our father”, Mr Owaisi said Adam, who is the father of entire humanity landed in India when he came to Earth.
The MIM president decried attempts to link terrorism with Islam. He said Gujarat cops were trying to link terrorism with Muslims and make their constables wear skullcaps in mock drills. Did Ajmal Kasab who attacked Mumbai wear a skullcap? he asked, and said, “Terrorists are enemies of our country and humankind”.
Demanding action against Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi and Hafiz Saeed for killing innocents, Mr Owaisi said the enemies of the country were enemies of Muslims. He added that the MIM had political differences with the Bharatiya Janata Party but supported any action against enemies of the country and has made this stand clear in Parliament.
