Pawan Kalyan’s fan attacked at 'Gopala Gopala' audio launch
Hyderabad: A fan was allegedly attacked by a group at the audio launch function of the movie ‘Gopala Gopala’ at Shilpakalavedika in Madhapur on Sunday.
The incident occurred much before the event commenced. The victim who claims to be a Pawan Kalyan fan and the accused had a tiff over entry passes, following which he was attacked with a sharp weapon. The angry group slit his throat. He sustained a minor injury and was shifted to hospital. His condition is stable. ‘Gopala Gopala’ stars Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh.
The injured, identified as K. Srinivas, 31, is the son of Venkatesh, a private sector employee. He is a native of Vinugonda of Guntur district and a resident of Hayathnagar.
He claims to be the president of Vinugonda Pawan Kalyan Fans Association.
Police said that being association president and a Pawan Kalyan fan himself, Srinivas got some entry passes for the audio launch. He kept them for his friends who wanted to join him at the venue. A group of around five persons who also came to attend the function. They saw him with passes at Gate number 1 and approached him for them.
“They asked him for passes but Srinivas maintained that he had kept them for his friends.
He refused to give even after repeated requests,” said SI A. Satyanarayana.
Angered by this, the group started arguing with him for the passes. Srinivas escaped from gate number 1 to avoid them. While he was walking to another place, the group started following him and when he reached a few meters away on the road from Shilparamam towards KS, they attacked him.
“They started arguing again and following a heated argument, they attacked him on the throat with a sharp weapon. It wasn’t a knife and he sustained a superficial injury. He was rushed to Sunshine Hospitals and is being treated. His condition is stable and he is out of danger,” said Mr Satyanarayana.
A case under Section 324 for causing hurt using dangerous weapons was booked. The attackers have not been arrested.
Gopala Gopala is a remake of Bollywood film Oh My God starring Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal.
