I wanted to run away: Pawan Kalyan
On Sunday evening, speaking at the audio function of Gopala Gopala, actor Pawan Kalyan revealed that he has always believed in God. He shared that, before he entered films, he wanted run away from home along with his friend Anand Sai (now art director).
“We were in Chennai at that time and we didn’t know what work we could do. I wasn’t good in studies. At that time, I wanted to run away to the Srisailam forests with Anand Sai,” recalled Pawan Kalyan.
“We packed our bags and were about to leave, when I got a call from Annayya (Chiranjeevi). He asked me to come to Hyderabad,” says Pawan Kalyan.
In Hyderabad, he started practicing yoga and attending spiritual programmes. “I used to tell Annayya about yoga and how it improves our lives,” said Pawan Kalyan.
Chiranjeevi once told him it is easy to socialise with others when everything is going well. “I started to think, and realised that he had told me the truth.
He worked very hard from morning to evening, while I sat idle at home,” he says. He added, that was when he decided to enter films and work on his own.
The actor admits that he knew he was going to face a difficult phase in his life, after his blockbuster Khushi in 2001.
“When I was watching Khushi, I sensed that I won’t taste success for another 10 years and I was prepared for it,” he said.
But success finally came knocking with Gabbar Singh. “While shooting for Gabbar Singh many fans, who believed in me, came and asked for this film to be a hit.
For the sake of my fans, I prayed to God for the same,” revealed the actor. The crew and cast of the film Gopala Gopala were also present at the audio launch.
