Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan shoot in Shekhawati
The region of Shekhawati in North Rajasthan famous for its lavish havelis, played host to Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and director Kabir Khan who found their way to the sleepy town on a Sunday morning.
Now, Shekhawati is a small place that has none of the amenities the big stars like Salman and Kareena are used to. However, the actor did not have a tough time adjusting. Says a source from the location, “Salman is used to roughing it out. He can survive even on basic amenities. But for Kareena, who lives rather lavishly, Shekhawati is a far cry from her begum lifestyle.”
Even though she hasn’t roughed it out as much as Salman, Kareena too has had her own share of such experiences. The source adds, “Not that Kareena has not roughed it out during her outdoor schedules. She shot at the Indo-Pak border for her first film Refugee. And she shot in some really rugged terrains for Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met. Some of those places didn’t even have proper hotels. But Shekhawati is a different experience. It is a very ethnic Rajasthani region. Kareena loves the people, food and the ambience already.”
We hear the unit has set up all the comfort requirements for the shooting. Salman, who flew straight after the recording of his finale on Bigg Boss, is said to be gelling well with the locals. A witness on location says, “Salman bhai is mingling freely with the locals, trying to pick up their dialect, eating their food and doing a bit of sight-seeing in the forts and havelis between shots.”
As for director Kabir Khan, who likes to choose unusual locations, Shekhawati is no big deal. He says, “We have set up amenities and it’s actually quite comfortable here, considering I have shot in Afghanistan for Kabul Express.”
