The SHO of the Musajhag police station has been placed under suspension
Meanwhile, a medical examination of the victim has confirmed sexual assault.
Lucknow: The insensitivity of the UP police came to the fore on Sunday when additional director general of police H.C. Awas-thi, gave out the name and residential address of the girl raped by cops before the media.
Mr Awasthi was on a visit to the Musajhag police station to which the accused constables were attached and had a meeting with the girl’s family. Later while talking to the media, he revealed the victim’s name and address.
Meanwhile, a medical examination of the victim has confirmed sexual assault. The two accused constables, Veerpal Yadav and Avnish Yadav are on the run and the special task force has been formed to track them down.
The station house officer of the Musajhag police station has also been placed under suspension.
