Shanvi Srivastav to romance Yash onscreen in 'Masterpiece'
It feels great that the Kannada audience have accepted me as an actress - Shanvi
The cute ghost of 'Chandralekha', one of the top five films of 2014 for Sandalwood which witnessed an impressive debut of pretty actress – Shanvi Srivastav, is all set to ‘haunt’ the Kannada audience yet again on big screen. This time in grand style, as the actress signed a new Kannada movie opposite Rocking Star Yash, who has had a great box office run with back to back success including his last release Mr & Mrs Ramachari, which is currently running to packed houses across the state.
After her brilliant performance in 'Chandralekha', she had bagged a Sandalwood project which is a remake of Telugu hit 'Ala Modalaindi'. Her debut movie in Kannada was also a remake of Telugu hit – 'Prema Katha Chitram'. “It feels great that the Kannada audience have accepted me as an actress and not just as a heroine. I have signed the movie which will be directed by Manju Mandavya with Yash in the lead. I am really lucky that all my projects so far in Sandalwood have a lot of emphasis with regard to my characters which adds on to the script. It has helped me excel,” says Shanvi.
On her third big project in Kannada - 'Masterpiece', the actress says that both script and her character are very interesting. “Though my character is limited, it is packed with great humour and emotions. I see it as a good opportunity to excel as an actress.” Insofar as working with Yash, the Rowdy girl shares that when she first heard about Yash and his dedication towards making of a film, she says, “I am very excited to work with such a dedicated actor. He gets under the skin of the character with all the hard work and preparations from the beginning of the script and right till the end of making of the movie. I am eagerly looking forward to learn from him.”
The director Manju Mandavya, who was very much impressed with her performance in 'Chandralekha' chose her as heroine in 'Masterpiece'. “I was not aware that the director chose to cast me after watching my debut film in Kannada. I wish to do more such roles with substance. Her other Kannada movie (not yet titled) which is a remake of Ala Modalaindi starring opposite Sumanth Shailendra has finished shooting for talky portions even as she is busy with a Tamil project titled Varaipadam in which she portrays a two-shaded role.
Even before she signs off, the actress reveals that she is trying to learn Kannada but working in other language projects simultaneously, she is finding it a bit difficult, and however she is determined to learn the language soon.
