Three children electrocuted while flying kite in Andhra Pradesh
Vijaywada: Kite flying on a holiday turned tragic for three kids who were electrocuted in Raaviharagopal Nagar in Pamarru mandal of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh.
The deceased are identified as brothers N Yesu Babu, 11 and John Raju, 9 and Suresh, 12 friend of the duo. The three children were flying kite on the terrace of their single storey building at Nagilerugattu in Raaviharagopal Nagar on Friday afternoon.
As the kite stuck between live electric wires connecting two 11KV transformers, the trio tired to fetch it. Unaware of the high current passing in the wires the trio used an iron rod to fetch the kite, as one of them contacted the wires through iron road, current passed to three of them one by one and they were killed on the spot, Pamarru sub inspector M Venkata Narayana told DC. All this happened only in a matter of few minutes.
A pal of gloom descended over the village following death of three kids. The kids are school dropouts, according to police. A case under section 174 of CrPC would be registered.
On November 23 in Vijayawada a 8-year-old boy Y Deepak Raju too was killed in similar mishap. The boy who was living in Rellizara near Balaganapati temple in One-town was electrocuted when he tried to pick the kite that was stuck between electric wires passing along side his house’s terrace.
