Silver prices rise by Rs 255 per kg in futures trade
Silver prices shooted up to Rs 36,145 per kg
New Delhi: Silver prices rose by Rs 255 to Rs 36,145 per kg in futures trade after speculators built-up positions even as metal weakened overseas. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March rose by Rs 255, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 36,145 per kg in business turnover of 774 lots. On similar lines, the metal for delivery in far-month May traded higher by Rs 100, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 36,804 per kg in 14 lots.
Analysts said the rise in silver prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to building up of positions by participants but overnight weakness in the metal overseas, capped the gains.
Meanwhile, silver fell 4.2 per cent to USD 15.59 an ounce in New York yesterday.
