Tirupati: Fear gripped the fringe villages near the forest area in Kuppam constituency, after an elephant herd killed a 50-year old woman from Tamil Nadu late on Monday evening.
According to the information received, G. Obamma, went to the forest along with her cattle, When she did not return, villagers went looking for her. They found her body inside the forests trampled to death by a herd of elephants.
Panic gripped villages in the Kuppam-V Kota belt. Only a few days ago, a forest department line watcher, K. Muneppa, was killed by a herd of wild elephants in the Naniyala forests near Ramakuppam.
