BJP leader in West Bengal abuses Mamata Banerjee
This is the second time in a week that a BJP leader has courted controversy
Kolkata: After BJP’s Birbhum district president, his Purilia district counterpart left the party leadership red-faced by making obscene comments about chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
While referring to Ms Banerjee’s bamboo comments, BJP’s Purulia district chief Shyamapada Mondal made the unprintable comment about her during a party rally.
A rattled state BJP president Rahul Sinha condemned his comments and immediately served him a show cause notice.
“He has been warned. Nevertheless I apologise to the CM and all mothers and sisters for his comment,” Mr Sinha said.
Later Mr Mondal also apologised for his behaviour. Trinamul, however, was up in arms against Mr Mondal.
