Congress to revive in Uttar Pradesh from January
Lucknow: The Congress in Uttar Pradesh will wait for Makar Sankranti next year to start discussions on reviving the party.
“We will be organising a special camp in Varanasi after Makar Sankranti to discuss ways to improve the party’s performance in the state. The main objective of this camp will be to give the party a new lease of life and devise ways to fight the BJP in Uttar Pradesh,” AICC general secretary and in charge of UP affairs Madhusudan Mistry said on Sunday.
“People have not forgotten the Congress, but it is the party which has stopped reaching to them. We will deliberate on how to deal with Narendra Modi and his government’s policies,” he said.
Mr Mistry, who was in Lucknow to honour party veterans, said that party workers must remain connected to the people, reach out to them, listen to their problems and help them.
“Congress men should not get disheartened by the party’s defeat. This is a part of politics and we are confident that we will soon stage a comeback,” he said.
