AMU students demand Bharat Ratna for Sir Syed Ahmad Khan

Sir Syed Minority Foundation wants the govt to stand true to its promise of ‘inclusive politics’

Lucknow: Students of the Aligarh Muslim University have sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of the nation, should also be conferred on AMU founder Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.

The members of Sir Syed Minority Foundation wants the government to stand true to its promise of ‘inclusive politics’, but does not their demand to be seen as a reaction to the conferring of Bharat Ratna on Madan Mohan Malviya.
