Jharkhand to get first non-tribal CM; Raghubar Das to take oath on December 28
Patna: Tribal-dominated Jharkhand on Friday got a first non-tribal as Chief Minister after the BJP unanimously elected him as the Legislature Party leader.
The name of Raghubar Das was decided at a meeting in Ranchi attended by J.P. Nadda and Vinay Saharsbudhey on Friday.
As the name of Raghubar Das five times MLA was made public the party leaders and workers went into frenzy and celebrated.
“I am thankful to the people and our party leaders for showing faith in me I will try to prove myself. The state which has seen only corruption will now move towards development,” Mr Raghubar Das said after he was topped off as the Chief Minister.

According to sources in the BJP, the oath taking ceremony will be held on December 28, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Meanwhile, some tribal groups in the state have decided to launch a massive agitation against a non-tribal taking over as the Chief Minister of the state. A statewide bandh has been called by these groups on Saturday.
