Centre shuffles 14 senior bureaucrats
New Delhi: The Centre on Friday ordered a large-scale reshuffle of bureaucrats, with senior IRS officer Deepak Shetty made director-general of shipping. Around 14 more bureaucrats have been shifted.
The appointments of three new private secretaries to Union ministers were also cleared by the appointments committee of the Cabinet.
M.J. Joseph, a 1979-batch Indian Cost Accounts Service officer, was named director-general, Bureau of Indian Standards, in the rank of additional secretary.
Anant Kumar Singh, a 1984-batch IAS officer of UP, was made additional secretary in home ministry. His Bihar cadre batchmate, Deepak Kumar, was named additional secretary in the labour ministry.
Anand Kumar, also of the 1984 batch, is now managing director of National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation. Raghvendra Singh, a 1983 batch IAS of West Bengal cadre, has been shifted to Department of Agriculture and Cooperation as additional secretary from the information and broadcasting ministry.
T. Vijayakumar, has been appointed as director general, Council for Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology.
