Teenage girl, mother raped in Guntur
Guntur: A woman and her 16-year-old daughter were raped by two persons in Guntur district, police said on Friday. According to Ponnur police, the accused are from Kattempudi village of Ponnur mandal and they raped the victims who were returning home on the night of December 24.
The victims have lodged a complaint with Ponnur police, with the help of relatives. Cops have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits. According to Ponnur assistant sub-inspector Suresh Babu, the woman and her daughter went to Ponnur on December 24 to shop for Christmas. While they were walking back home at around 9.30 pm, two persons Nama Vinod and M. Satish Babu abducted them and forcibly took them to an adjacent field and raped them.
The duo also threatened the victims with dire consequences if they told anyone of the incident. The victims revealed all to their relatives on Thursday and then lodged a complaint on Thursday night.
